Pls Pay Attention& Need Support If you just came from China and looking for helps, please pay attention to this short message. In USA the traffic law in each state are different. Therefore, if you ask question about accident, ticket, court, insurance, register a car, title, DMV etc, you must clearly indicate what state are you in or which state you violate traffic law at. Otherwise, a nice answer might get you into trouble. Also please you know that Grand Theft Auto is a federal offense. If you drive your friend's car without his/her permission, you might be in a greater trouble than you hoped. If you are looking for advise that can talk yourself out of the trouble, the best advise is just tell the truth, and be sincerely. Law enforcement or insurance are not dummy. The idea we are having right now, they might have already figured out years ago. Good luck ! by Casinoeye at 04.sep.30 first, once you file the claim. there is no way you can cancel the claim. the claim will stay on your records for 3-5 years and it will impact your premium for next 3-5 years depending on the state you live in. second, usually, they will not know you did not have anyone sitting on your side if there is no police report and the other driver did not report that. but your life is basically in other people's hands. third, insurance will pay and get this settled. you will only be punished by higher premium regardless which insurance company you go. forth, i am glad you did not get killed or get others killed. i have seen too many people driving with a learning permit without licensed driver on the side. some of them made the mistake that impacted the rest of their lives. please for your own sake, never do it again. take care by leonlz99 at oct.27/04 PS:事故经过 This morning I got involved in a car accident in the neighborhood. It was my fault and my car had no problem. Initially, I agreed to pay cash since with a learner license I didn't want them to report to police. The assessment is around $1170 for the flat dent in the side door. I felt it's too expensive since my current car only cost me $2400. We went to my agent instead. Before the claim was filed over the phone in the agent's office, the other driver and I made a deal over telling future investigators that I did have a passenger sitting next to me. I paid for the 6-month premium $300 only with liability in summer with a learner license and up until now somehow haven't really gone to the driving test yet. Tihs is my first accident and the insurance firm is State Farm. My quesitons are: 1) Should I cancel the claim and pay cash right away in case that a police report is required? Can I cancel the claim after I get the bill or something? I have $300 for deductable. 2) Will the premium increase alot after I get a driving license? The agent told me 20% but he didn't know I still only have the learner license. If eventually I have to pay the insurance company off, I would rather pay cash instead. 3) will they find out that I only have learner license? Should I call the firm to confirm that my friend who "sits" next to me has a driving license? 4) Generally, will they call and investigate on my friend? My american friend told me not to allow tape recording if that is the case.
