It is one of the world's most magnificant modern buildings. It was completed by 1973, designed by Joern Utzon. Remarkable feature of the building is that its scheme makes no reference to history or to classical architectural forms. It also embodies timeless popular metaphors. " The construction of the beautiful freestanding, sculptural tripartite Opera House was one of the longest contractual sagas of the century". Sydney Harbour Bridge (Photographed on 20/12/2004) Beside the Sydney Opera House, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of Australia's most well known and photographed landmarks. It was opened in March 1932, being the world largest (but not the longest) steel arch bridge,  with the top of the bridge standing 134 m above the harbour.
