Four groups in America were polled about their impressions of China -
1. General Public
2. Opinion Leaders
3. Congressional Staff
4. Business Leaders
One question they were asked is
How do you view China's Emergence as a Global Economic Power?
Does Trade with China benefit the US economy?
Though 60% (General Public) to 88% (Congressional Staff) see China as a potential or serious threat, none of the groups are about to back down when it comes to trade with
the dragon.
One in four of the general public (26%) and nearly one in three of the Congressional
staff (31%) think its not good for the US economy. But after that, its all uphill or
downhill, depending on whether your are the one in those four who disagree.
