'相思红豆' 新翻

Last night when I was reading  a blog at WXC , for some reason, my thoughts evoked me with 唐代诗人王维的 “红豆”. Later I took a shot to make an attempt to translate the poem with  my  own interpretation in English.

Here goes:

Red Bean

In southern China/>/> the red bean flourishes.
It would thrive lushly when spring comes.
      Gather some seeds will you?
It may console your heart as sentiment of love emerges.

You see, often we have these sentimental moments transpired to our mind out of blue. It could be a raining evening as you watched rain drops dripped  on the window glass, or a old love song came from the car radio as you drove from A to B, or a familiar aroma filled your nostrils  when your walked on the street in a snowy morning, or  dim moonlight cast the shadow on your piano as you read someone’s blog  at a summer night, you started thinking of someone.

All of sudden I understood the poem, maybe those flashbacks of reminiscence of our past are these collection of  “red beans” we gathered. Maybe the poet tried to tell us a simple fact thousands years ago.  We are only humans.
