no doubt that people can fight agianest their suroundings, but in case like that there is no way a single one can change it in a fundmental fashion. BTW, what u should show to others is not pity, but love, and kindness......

You are definitely not mindless, but heartless, so no surprise you said what you had said. It's hard to imagine who will belong to you.

As I was scrolling through the pictures, I didn't feel one bit of pity. I can't help but think that some of it is their own fault. You can't expect us, "commoners" to do anything significant enough to change their misfortune.
If they aren't even complaining about their own lives, who are we to judge what they should or should not get? Pitying them, helping them, all the crap about doing something, but what did you ever do?
I still believe the fact that if you are unhappy with the life you are living, do something to change it! Don't depend on others to help you. They will only grow dependent, and if you no longer have the power to help them,it'll look as if you're the bad guy.

回复pillar的评论:
Our sense of being lucky does not depend on who we compare ourselves with, but the so-called "comparison" to people in these pictures do help remind us of something otherwise we forget easily - our heart and soul as human being. When we find our heart and soul through looking at these people, we won't feel "unfortunate" when we look at the pictures "showing the rich and the privileged" - because you'll probably have a new definition about what is rich and privileged. This is my thought. Indeed these pictures with the comments touched my heart so directly and real today, each time I looked at and thought about them, my eyes got wet. I used to see similar pictures, but never felt the same way like today - it seems this is the first time that my heart cried for something totally non-related to my personal experience... I wanted this feeling to stay, I don't want to wake up tomorrow morning and go to work feeling exactly the same as that before I saw these pictures. I recommend "Blood Diamond". Maddy Bowen, the daring, beautiful journalist will ask you the questions you should answer, will tell you the facts that you should know. Yes, this world is unfaire and sometimes hopeless, yet, "good things are done every day, but apparently not by you!" - I hope one day I can say I'm definitely not one of those "you" she talked to.
Now, that's one of the smartest comments I have ever heard of.
Bravo! : )
We all want to feel better about what we have accomplished for ourselves, human being are selfish, we all know that.
We all can be touched by those dramatic pictures, and wish we could have done something about it. However, unless we have, or willing to do something about it, we are the same as those who think those pictures are not a big deal after all.
Hate to be cynical, but cannot help asking the question: does our sense of being lucky depend on who we compare with? If the answer is yes, then those of you who feel lucky and a sense of peace of minde would fell unfortunate if the pictures showing here were the rich and the privileged. How easily we can be programmed.
