Flaxseed

Flax has been employed to manufacture fabric, dye, paper, medicines, fishing nets and soap. In addition t is grown as an household plant in gardens, as flax is a plant specy which is capable of making truly blue flowers (most "blue" flowers are really shades of purple), but not all flax varieties make blue flowers.

The flaxseeds produce a vegetable oil known as flaxseed oil. It is one of the oldest commercial oils and solvent-processed flax seed oil has been used for centuries as a drying oil in painting and varnishing.
