When I voted for John Howard and the Coalition in 1996 it was to get rid of a Labor government too long in power and too convinced of its own righteousness to govern properly any more. It was a positive, pro-renewal vote.
Eleven years later and it is déjà vu all over again. It is time to open the electoral sluices and flush out another government that has come to believe that the world will end unless they are in charge of everything.
