Insurance is not like butter or bread. Nobody will buy them unless sales people come to you or it’s mandatory (like auto insurance). I am not an insurance agent and I don’t have life insurance myself (because I don’t need it), but reading a couple of posts here made me feel some people might need it.
Life insurance (indirectly) insures one’s ability to bring a paycheck. So if there are people who are dependent on your paycheck, you might want to consider it. Term life insurance fit most people’s needs. There are other types of life insurance that have savings or investing functions but are not good for most people. Make sure you understand the policy if you want to get one. Sales people will get more commissions if the products make more money for the insurance company. Those are the best products for the company and the worst products for you.
In most cases, people just throw their premium away without getting anything in return. This is called 破财免灾.
