"That's the best part of acting. I've been directing actors for a long time. How many times do you see actors like that, even just a second or something? You see the most private performances, the most brave and private. I think those scenes are pivotal. They anchor the movie, so it would be a shame if we don't see it."
It would be a shame if we don't see it.”
不错,单词“shame”是“羞耻”的意思,可是“It is a shame….” “It is a shame that the rain spoiled your holiday.”(真遗憾这场雨把你的假期给糟蹋了。)
They anchor the movie, so it would be a shame if we don't see it. See的不是movie,而是他的观点“they anchor the movie”。 大家一定常说“I see.”吧,这里的see就是I see的see。

My impression is Chinese actress isn't worth a penny in the movie. You don't see such scenes in US movie

They anchor the movie, so it would be a shame if we don't see it(those scenes)."
李安这句口头表达确有不严谨的地方,首先,“it would be a shame"后面应该是"didn't"
It would be a shame if we did not see those scenes.
It would be a shame if we did not see the move.
It would be a shame if we did not see this reason (anchoring the movie).

They anchor the movie, so it would be a shame if we don't see it.
so it would be a shame if we don't see that they anchor the movie.
