My wife hired a lawn service company to do the work. They first applied some chemicals to kill the Bermuda grass

Then they took off the dead Bermuda grass, and replacing them with new St. Augustine lawn

The cost of this work was $850 for replacing approximately 900 SF bermuda grass. If you DIY, you may save about half, I guess.
