If so, organic milk should be fine. Supposedly, none of those hormore can be added into the milk. Then it would be safe?
Wow, so many opinion. Guess non of us know the absolute truth.
CuoJue, you need to sort the thing out with your husband. What your children drink is strictly your family business. If your husband is so influenced by others' opinion, there are plenty different/opposite opinion for you guys to rely on. Do you know how to google?
Well, what about rice milk? My son is allergic to cow milk AND soy milk. He has been drinking rice milk for over a year now. I feel safer as it is made from brown rice and therefore, less chemical is added. Really, it's not much better here in North America in food industry. Those manufacturers add lot of chemicals in their foods but they just won't kill you, that's all. We have to eat simple, light (occasionally french fries as there's no way to avoid it as this is every kid's favourite), white meats and fish... not too much gluten (wheat), lots of vegetables and fruits. I've heard that yam is one of the best among all the foods.
I never trust milk. I have been giving my 4 yr old soy milk for years. Even my husband, a white guy, who had been drinking milk for 30 years, switched to soy milk because of me. I also do not trust red meat. They look pretty scary. We eat a bit chicken - without the skin and a lot of fish...
Would you give me the article ?
I want to see the sample size, population, years of follow-up, race, gender, age, etc. And whether it's sponsored by milk industry. You know that kind of research can not be trusted blindly.

It's not because of milk itsself. It's because of the GM which is contained in the products by feeding with GM. In America, a lot of farmers use it in order to increase the quanties of the products. It is certainly not good for you body if you take so much of it in a long term. Eating organic food is a good way to avoid it.

Hope you don't spread your "practice" in US media/society or just don't let the child protection organizations know about this. They could claim that you are abusing your kids by depriving nutrition from your kids, based on current knowledge.
Another thing in your or her "writting"about the breast cancer incident rate in china of 1/100k, which is one thenth of that in the west (1/10k) is GROSSLY wrong! SO this 英国地球化学家简·普兰特 knows very little in this topic.
it's really a personal choice rather than scientific proven.

In America, the FDA does not allow the products made in the domestic market to be labeled regarding to the standard of containing rBGH in order to protect the manufacturers. Of course you will affected by taking in rBGH by drinking and eating those products fed with rBGH. Even in China, the government has written in the laws that the manufactures have to label the content in this regard.

美国哈佛,STANFORD 研究团队发表研究结果得出的结论是牛奶中的IGF-1 (类胰岛素一号增长因子)导致女性易患乳腺癌,男性易患前列腺癌。
On January 23, 1998 researchers at the Harvard Medical School released a major study providing conclusive evidence that IGF-1 is a potent risk factor for prostate cancer. Earlier, in 1990 researchers at Stanford University reported that IGF-1 promotes the growth of prostate cells. This was followed by the discovery that IGF-1 accelerates the growth of breast cancer cells.
Should you be concerned? Yes, you certainly should, particularly if you drink milk produced in the United States.

did you read some ariticles about unfermented soy products? They are not as good as people believe and as matter of fact, can be much harmful to people. I do not have the links now but if you google it, many research reports about soy milk, tufo and so on. On the other hand fermented soy products such as miso, soy source are good to health.
I totall disgree that you only give soy milk no cow's milk to your child, you may be harming his/ her health, you should do more research before you do this to your child. He/she can not make the decisions what to eat, his/her health is totally on your hand.
There are some anti cancer information from John Hopkins. You will know which one is better after you read it.

She might be good in her field, but she is not an expert in life science. Even Nobel prize winner Linus Pauling (who discovered protein structure) made a false claim in his late years that taking mega does of vitamin C(>1500mg) daily can cure almost every from common cold to cancer.
Probabaly balanced diet is more important.
The industry sponored researchs bad mouth each other just make people confused.
Here's a link that talks about how bad soybean is, especially for children and most points have been mentioned by the comments to you article:
http://www.mercola.com/article/soy/avoid_soy.htm
To neiman07 and Bali:
Soy is contentious here in North America. (not among the Asians) But it is contentious not because it is bad, but because the hugely powerful dairy industry has made it so. The American Dairy Association (ADA)and the Weston Price Foundation have spent millions of dollars campaigning against soy food in general, because they are losing market share to soy beverage. There are a lot of pseudo-science and ill-intent propaganda sponsored by businesses and special interest groups here. Can't believe everything you read.
It's been scientically proven that too much dairy product consumption may breast cancer. But I don't believe that the tumour disappeared because Plant stopped eating dairy yogurt. If it did happen, it would have been a mircal, a mircal performed by God, not a mircal by stopping yogurt.
There are a lot of conflict information about soy drinks. For example, I have read that women who want to get pregnant shouldn't eat soy drinks because of its hormone content.

Jenne, Thank you so much for your message. I had the experience about milk produces. It was two years ago in a very nice country.
Jenne. those result from a book is not trustable especially from a best-sell book. We have to trust this kind of reasearch result only from peer-reviewed journals.
I wish you could read these review papers about IGF-1 in milk and cancer. the link are http://www.ajcn.org/cgi/reprint/80/1/5
http://www.jacn.org/cgi/reprint/24/suppl_6/556S
The intake of IGF-1 from milk only counts for 0.06% of IGF-1 from the body itself.
There is no evidence for the relation of milk comsuption and breast cancer.
