Doc, This is awesome! It looks like that your parents’ smooth-sailing at consulate has already uplifted your spirits which might have possibly dampened by the winter blue. Well, I guess the days of voice echoing in the empty rooms would be numbered :). That is good for you.
People often say “no pain, no gain”, it’s certainly true in your case. I think that the price tag for you to pay for reaching this juncture is definitely not cheap, not mentioning those “torturing” moments such as shoveling knee-deep snow alone in the Chinese New Year's day morning. In retrospect. it’d be still worth it. Do you agree ?
Now, you’re on a roll, so enjoy your hard-earned and deserved fruits and share them with your folks who have been there for you when you need them all these time.
Nevertheless, one piece of unsolicited advice, watch your calorie intake though, as variety of dishes and ever available snacks prepared by your parents would work up your appetite, plus plenty party foods and beverages accessed before and after graduation ceremony could leave some adversary affects on you :).
This is really good news at this depressing time.
And, that moment, when you receive your honor and thank your parents, everything they have done to you will be rewarded.
