My point is that based on scientific data, H1N1 currently has not reached the level that China treats it at. Some officials in China don't know science or public health. They treat this flu as a political campaign.

My "国际标准" is WHO's conclusion based on science, not politics.

There are a lot of reasons to 忧虑,"担心甲流能与某些抗药的季节性流感混合,变异成更强的抗药新流感。" This is the science I talked about. People need to put a lot of efforts to monitor what could happen and prevent it from happening. Only research can do the job. That is exactly where the money should go.
"另外CDC表示,当前美国确诊的5,469例甲流病人只是冰山一角,CDC代主任贝塞尔上周估计至少10万人染病。" I agree. There are many people who had disease but never be treated or tested. It is like seasonal flu.
There is little difference in your knowledge. That does not mean there is little difference in reality. You are either too biased or too blind to see. As a matter of fact, I don't see why China cannot take any "heavy-handed" actions or measures in anything provided it benefits the majority of people. Besides, 国际标准 did not prevent sarz,or mouth and feet, or 金融风暴, or who knows what next is. Why does China have to take that risk by keeping "up" with the others ?
Where did you get these data? Your data are totally misleading.
My data were from CDC and WHO. Mexico: total case 3892, death 75.
We all know that there are acturally much more cases in Mexico but no enough resourece to confirm in that country. There are more cases in US than Mexico since CDC gets more resources.
In addition, there are tens thousands of people who only had minor symptoms and have never been tested.

To complete your comment, H1N1 is a special type of flu, a new kind of flu. Of course we need to be serious about it, to monitor it, but not necessarily be panic, at least not at this moment.
Actually, most of population will gain immunity by exposing to mild form of this virus.

"假如中国不小心,死了几千人,你骂不骂?可能你比谁都骂得凶。"
This is your groundless assumption, not science. The truth is only 85 died all over the world, majority of death were from Mexico, not more than regular season flu.
"中国政府必须特别特别小心" de things are many many, TB, HIV, etc. I don't see they put much efforts like this.

国际标准?美国的标准?加拿大的?墨西哥的?日本的?按国际标准中国目前病人少了点儿,政府责无旁贷。

I agree with author's point. h1n1 flu is just one of the flu.
Influenza (the flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting a flu vaccination each year. Every year in the United States, on average 5% to 20% of the population gets the flu; more than 200,000 people are hospitalized from flu complications, and; about 36,000 people die from flu-related causes. Some people, such as older people, young children, and people with certain health conditions, are at high risk for serious flu complications.
There are two main types of influenza (flu) virus: Types A and B. Influenza A and B viruses are responsible for seasonal flu epidemics each year. Influenza A viruses can be broken down into sub-types. Over the course of a flu season, different types (A & B) and subtypes of influenza A viruses can circulate and cause illness. In addition, influenza viruses are constantly changing through a process called "antigenic drift."

H1N1, A New Influenza Virus
Novel influenza A (H1N1) is a new flu virus of swine origin that was first detected in April, 2009. The virus is infecting people and is spreading from person-to-person, sparking a growing outbreak of illness in the United States. An increasing number of cases are being reported internationally as well.
It’s thought that novel influenza A (H1N1) flu spreads in the same way that regular seasonal influenza viruses spread; mainly through the coughs and sneezes of people who are sick with the virus.
It’s uncertain at this time how severe this novel H1N1 outbreak will be in terms of illness and death compared with other influenza viruses. Because this is a new virus, most people will not have immunity to it, and illness may be more severe and widespread as a result. In addition, currently there is no vaccine to protect against this novel H1N1 virus. CDC anticipates that there will be more cases, more hospitalizations and more deaths associated with this new virus in the coming days and weeks.
Novel influenza A (H1N1) activity is now being detected through CDC’s routine influenza surveillance systems and reported weekly in FluView. CDC tracks U.S. influenza activity through multiple systems across five categories. The fact that novel H1N1 activity is now detected through seasonal surveillance systems is an indication that there are higher levels of influenza-like illness in the United States than is normal for this time of year. About half of all influenza viruses being detected are novel H1N1 viruses.
