"New York Vocal Artists Research Center"
News Release of Premiere Summer Concert

June 09, 2009

"New York Vocal Artists Research Center (NYVARC)", which was established and registered in the state government early in 2009, is a non-profit professional artistic and academic organization. Our goal is to improve our singing skills, to enrich the cultural life of the community, as well as to promote the cultural exchanges between US and China.

NYVARC is formed with singers, pianists and composers. Most of its members have graduated from the well-known music artist schools either in China or overseas. And many of them have been active in professional performance arena for many years, so do their strong stage performing experiences with this organization. Since most of our current members come from overseas, many of them have switched their careers. But they never lost their great passion of singing and keep working on enhancing their performance prowess. Since it was established, it has attracted vocal talents not only in the U.S. A., but also outstanding vocal artists from overseas.

You may wonder what make this organization different from others. We believe it is the passion, love and the pursuit of music bringing their members together. And we believe that makes NYVARC a strong foundation for a long term growth.

The NYVARC has its regular meeting once a month to foster views exchanges and to learn from each other. And it also adds ad-hoc rehearsals for its planned concerts or exchange programs.

NYVARC will hold its first summer concert on June 28, starting at 2:00 p.m.in the Queen's Library of Flushing brunch. For this concert, the well-known baritone Xiao Qing He, soprano Mingyuan Li (former soprano of Chinese Central Opera House), tenor Hong Dai (former tenor of Chinese Central Opera House), tenor Pei Ke and Yongdong Chen (from the Nanjing Institute of Arts), soprano Min Chen (seating Vocal professor of the Sichuan Academy of Music), soprano Ming Yuan from Connecticut, as well as active sopranos Xuezhen Feng , Yan Xiao from the greater New York area, will share stage performances. The renowned pianist Ms. Dihua Lin will be the featured accompaniment throughout the concert. The programs will cover the repertoire with Chinese art songs, folk songs, Broadway songs and the famous Italian opera arias.

NYVARC also plans to organize the "Golden Autumn Concert" to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of China National Holiday in the coming fall and the "Christmas Song Concert "in the winter, and probably hold some exchanges programs with the music institutions from mainland China. We hope these professional singers have more opportunities to bring the fabulous art enjoyment to the audience.
