 One of the most common causes of performance issues is the lack of clear expectations. Most misunderstandings about work are prevented when managers provide clear explanations of their requirements. However, if your manager is not consistent in providing clear direction when assigning a task or project, ask the following questions and you will ensure that the assignment is completed successfully: What are the milestones and deadlines of the task? What is the priority of this task compared to my other duties? What people resources and budget are available? What obstacles to success do you expect to arise? What decision-making authority do I have?
