GOOG vs BIDU

BIDU is a search engine company targeted at Chinese language which is rather small. Nowadays, 85% of the web pages of the world is of English although BIDU Chinese search is undoubtfully #1 follwed by GOOGLE.cn.

Meanwhile, BIDU developed some advertisement business on top of its search business which also copies from GOOG.

That's all about BIDU which innovates nothing but copies search and according advertisement business from GOOG targeting at the small Chinese market.

GOOG looked like a search engine only company in the very begenning. However, Bill Gates, the well known founder of MSFT, in 2000 realized its potential and goal to be the builder of an internet operating system, which competes MS Windows, on top of which internet based applications will also compete MSFT products such as MS Office suite. So, since 2001, Bill Gates had been focusing on internet affairs only and handed off all other responsiblities to Steve Ballmer till he finally quit not long ago.

After accounting for the dominant share of advertisement business which then Windows Live now Windows Bing has been trying the best to catch up with, GOOG has developed a virtual and a physical internet based operating system which was released not long ago. Before the OS was released, GOOG released versions of internet based Office suites which are totally compatible with MS Office.

So, GOOG was, is and will be the tomb digger of MSFT.

In the foreseen future, computer operating system will be virtually gone, instead, users will get into a transparent web browser within which everything will be done like it could be in personalized GOOG settings on the internet these days.

The Chinese Alibaba is nothing but a so called B2B adverstisement board collection. Horizental B2B business model was proved to be a failure and the only B2B success of the world is Alibaba which has been always proud of being the #1 B2B company in the world. At the same time, vertical B2B is not new, it's been always called scalization.

The reason for the success of Alibaba is that Chinese business consists of low-level and small to midium sized enterprises which needs a platform to communicate and trade. On this point of view, the CEO of Alibaba, Yun MA said "small is beautiful" makes no sense at all. It will lead China to low level simple self-replication only.

GOOG does little in video or 3G. For example, its efforts on video almost lies only in acquisition of Youtube which was just $1.5B.

So all in all, GOOG is internet search based, developed with advertisement business, targeting at computerization revolution by internet operation system with eventually transplating all PC based application and computing services to internet based application and service which will substantially reduce cost and improve efficiency.

BIDU or Alibaba, whatever, are just low level copies of nothing but typical Chinese style.

Comparing BIDU or Alibaba to GOOG is a shame of GOOG.
