"Love never fails....
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love."

回复缘自知音的评论:
缘自知音,
太感谢你了,Elizabeth的先生Robert Browning写得着两首诗[Meeting at Night]&[My Star]我都没有读过.
"Mine has opened its soul to me; therefore I love it.
Than the two hearts beating each to each!"
再谢分享,周末快乐,
Rebecca

Elizabeth Barrett Browning's famous "How Do I Love Thee", 不知是谁翻译的,很贴切.
我也喜欢他先生Robert Browning的诗, 抄两首如下,与你共赏:
Meeting at Night
I
The grey sea and the long black land;
And the yellow half-moon large and low;
And the started little waves that leap
In fiery ringlets from their sleep,
As I gain the cove with pushing prow,
And quench its speed i'the slushy sand.
II
Then a smile of warm sea-scented beach;
Three fields to cross till a farm appears;
A tap at the pane, the quick sharp scratch
And blue spurt of aa lighted match,
and a voice less loud, thro'its joys and fears,
Than the two hearts beating each to each!
----Robert Browning
My Star
All that I know
Of a certain star,
Is, it can throw
(Like the angled spar)
Now a dart of red,
Now a dart of blue,
Till my friends have said
They would fain see, too,
My star that dartles the red and the blue!
Then it stops like a bird; like a flower, hangs furled:
They must solace themselves with the
Saturn above it.
What matter to me if their star is a world?
Mine has opened its soul to me; therefore I love it.
----Robert Browning
