Day 14
We got up early today, hoped to arrive at the church where Da Vinci's Last Supper is early in the morning, and find some open spots to see it since we didn't reserve tickets ahead of the trip. But it didn't work out. We were told that they had sold out for the entire month of December.
1. The church where Da Vinci's Last Supper is.
So we went to National Museum of Science and Technology nearby. They have lots of Leonardo's drawings (maps, human body parts, invention ideas ......). It was very interesting but quite tiring. After that we went to a castle (Castello Sforzesco). The castle was originally built in the 14th century, but was severely damaged during World War II, and had to be reconstructed afterward. The museum here has Michelangelo's last sculpture. But at the moment sitting under a warm sun sounded much more appealing to us than seeing another museum.
2. Castello Sforzesco.
3. Castello Sforzesco.
4. Fountain in front of Castello Sforzesco.
We went back to Duomo again later that night to take our last looks of Milan and Italy before going home tomorrow. It was all lit up, a matching ending for our wonderful Italy trip.
5. Milan's Duomo at night.
(The End)
P.S. 1 euro was about 1.5 USD in Nov./Dec. 2009.
