Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

Flour: 1 cup plus 2 Tsps

Baking soda: 1/2 tsp

Unsalted butter: 1 stick

Sugar: 1/2 cup

Light brown sugar: 1/2 cup

Egg: 1

Salt: 1/4 tsp

Vanilla: 1 1/2 tsp

Semisweet chocolate chip: 1 cup

Walnuts/pecans: 3/4 cup, chopped

 

Place sugars, butter, eggs, and vanilla in mixer bowl. Attach bowl and flat beater to mixer. Turn to speed 2 and mix about 30 seconds. Stop and scrape bowl. Turn to speed 4 and beat about 30 seconds. Stop and scrape bowl.

 

Turn to stir speed. Gradually add baking soda, salt, and flour to butter mixture and mix about 2 minutes. Turn to speed 2 and mix about 30 seconds. Stop and scrape bowl. Add chocolate chips and pecans. Turn to stir speed and mix about 15 seconds.

 

Drop the dough by heaping measuring teaspoonfuls into the sheets. Spacing about 2 inches apart. Bake 375F, 8 to 10 minutes. Rotate the sheet halfway through baking for even browning.
