arguing or fighting with flight attendant will not help, it will only make the matter worse. At that point, since everybody- captain and flight attendant and the ground inspection staff were determined to kick them out, get going is the only choice. if she were to argue or get loud with the staff, they would use excuses such as "threat to the staff", "interference with aircraft operation" "potential threat to the flight safety" to call security and to further even charge you. now in the name of "national security" and "war against terrorists", they could do a lot of things to civilian people. just read an article recently, one 6 years old girl was on "do not fly "list, for potential "threat to national security". her father said "the only person she threatened was her sister".
get going and comply with them sounds like the only rational and good act, without complication.

there is always "exception to the rule". In your situation, since all of you have already boarded the plane, the ground check in and security check in staff already gave you "green light". on the loose side, they (flight attandent and captain) could let you go. But they chose to take the stricter side, and kick your dog out.
sounds like that flight attendant did not like you for whatever reasons. Maybe resentful for you to bring dog to the first class. and that the captain may be her boyfriend who sided with her. lol.
