魁北克人是加拿大人中的异数，近半数公民赞成独立，年轻人尤甚。每年6月24日的”国庆节” ，只要你到亚伯拉旱平原，便立刻能感受到他们要求独立的狂热气氛，”魁北克万岁!”的口号一呼百应。魁北克人还有高非婚同居率，高分居率以及公开的同性恋。

最近魁华中国文化中心（又称魁华中文学校）与蒙特利尔大学国际研究中心建立合作联系, 彼此传递与介绍对方有关中国文化活动方面的信息，共同推动中加文化交流的发展。 具体见该研究中心的网站：http://www.cerium.ca/Partenaires-de-l-ecole-d-ete-Chine
