Hurricane Earl could impact the east coast this week

Right now it is a Category 4 hurricane and is expected to strengthen in the short term, but it should be weaker by the time that it approaches the coastline. Currently, forecasts show it recurving, brushing past New England, and making landfall in Nova Scotia. However, Earl has consistently tracked westward of the forecast, so it could very well brush by Cape Hatteras and impact the northeastern United States directly.
