     菲律宾朋友秀家的后院，住有13只鸡，两只狗，一只山羊和两口人，数目清楚。小屋子不到一千尺，后院却占了近一英亩地。还有一片自制的暖棚，种了西红柿，茄子等蔬菜。邻居家两匹高头大马，背上坐个男孩，不时地在木篱笆边走过。围墙的角落里有个废弃的小木屋，一只老母鸡专心致志地端坐在那里抚育小鸡，听说22天不离不弃，见到食物也不动心，饿极了，就飞跑着去吃一点，马上回来。如此辛苦的天然母爱让人感动不已。我跟秀开玩笑：“给我一只鸡好吗？”她欣然答应，我说回家去煮鸡汤，她脸色立刻大变：“No! No! No!!”好像我是一只狼，要吃了她的孩子。......
