Before this semester officially started, I watched the Chinese drama “养父”. I was really touched and shed a lot of tears.
“养父” was about a family composed of a middle aged man Lou, who was an orphan and had no idea about his biological parents, and three abandoned kids. None of them were blood related. Lou managed to find their biological parents or adopted parents after he was diagnosed as hereditary cerebellum ataxia, a fatal, progressive genetic disorder. He gradually lost functions of walking and talking, and even facial expression. Although they were not rich, they were very happy. What’s more impressive was that he had a big heart and what he did for his children touched everybody and bonded every family involved. What he did showed everybody what true love was.
He was unfortunate to have an incurable disease. But his positive attitude toward the world, his dream and altruism earned him respect and love. Maybe only sick people can see this world much clearer and really know what the true meaning of life is.
