The most interesting book that I have read so far is The Emerging Republican Majority by Kevin Phillips. This work was a seminal analysis in the 1960s of the “silent majority” and its growing distaste for liberal social and economic policies at the time. Although the circumstances are certainly different in the present day, it is incisive in its presentation of political strategy. Its perceptiveness of social and economic factors influencing political decisions is perpetually relevant and contributed significantly to my understanding of politics.
