A peep of this book:
Guess the secret in *the shape of the letters of E, W, N, S *
拼音早有,簡化過大於功,只有作小用,不能扶正
As the world turns, so we can do the same to word. word and world differs only in one letter. Words distinguish each other by shape, pronunciation and meaning.
"The earth is our homeland, yet we rarely realize that it is a moving object--it is faster than a bomber. The Earth is rotating around an axis. The Earth's axis is tipped over about 23.5 from vertical. The Earth rotates around once in 24 hours - that's a rate of 1000 miles per hour!. The time it takes for the Earth to rotate completely around once is what we call a day. It's Earth's rotation that gives us night and day. The combined effect of the Earth's tilt and its orbital motion result in the seasons".
World may imply confusion/chaos, while word does not, chaos impedes advance; but chaos in word study does the same. One of the examples is the confusion of Chinese, its characters and pronunciation. While we need to do a correct operation on the right spot--the pronunciation, we made a mistakes on the wrong side, made a unreasonable change, simplification of its character, although small portion of it is necessary.
Directions is the first word I try to denote cardinal direction, a mistake.
"The four cardinal directions are north, east, south, and west, commonly denoted by their initials: N, E, S, W. East and west are at right angles to north and south, with east being in the direction of rotation and west being directly opposite. On Earth, upright observers facing north will have south behind them, east on their right, and west on their left.".
These words of the four directions contain secret, by which I can explain a great number of words.
