Don't exaggerate the role of top schools. It has nothing to do with where you get degrees, especially in arts, theater, and music. Real artists and musicians with passion don't necessarily go to top schools, or college at all. They come from real life - often times having to struggle under financial pressure, broken family and other hardship. But they follow their dreams and what to do what they love.
Chinese Americans at top schools - well, many go to Wall Street or well-paid jobs. They may not love what they do. They gradually lose their dreams to follow. How many would still be pursuing their childhood dreams? Career dreams? Or any dreams at all?
