Our first brand new house looks like ten years old after we lived there only four years. Our two kids messed up everything and we lost some value when we sold that house. So we told our kids not to mess up our this brand new house. We love this house very much, and are planning to live in this house for a long time, maybe for the rest of our life.
One day after we moved into our this house a couple of months three years ago My elder little daughter of then five years old told me, “ Daddy, I’ve got to tell you something,” after I got home from work. I said, “ Yes, sweetie. What are you going to tell me?” down on my knees and holding her into my arms. “ But you’ve got to promise me not to be mad at me,” she said with a sad face and two arms down along her legs. “ Yes, daddy promise, my little BaoBei. So what’s it?” calming her down with my hands touching her head.
Then she led me to her little sister’s room and showed me what she drew on the wall. She drew some flowers on the wall. She immediately said to me, “Daddy, I really can’t control myself. I like coloring. I am sorry, daddy. I will never do it again. But I really can’t control myself.” She was so cute and I was so touched. I said to her, “ That’s ok, sweetie. I am so glad that you told daddy the real and true story. Daddy will buy more coloring books and pencils for you. You can draw whatever you want and wherever you want” “ Even on the wall?” she asked. “Yes, even on the wall. This is our house. Daddy and mommy got this beautiful house for you and your sister. We want you to be happy in our new house.” I continued, “ You’ve got to promise to daddy, too, honey. Don’t scratch wall, sofa and funitires with a stick or a knife. Promise?” She said, “ yes, daddy. I promise.” “ Good, sweetie, give daddy a big, big hug”, and she did with a happy smile on her face.
Now she is eight years old. She keeps her promise and never scratches anything, and so do I. But our house becomes a gallery of their foot and figure prints, colorings and drawings. Her drawings are so good that some of them are shown in her school conference room and one of them is published in a local newspaper.
She is doing very well at school, piano and drawing. She is a very sweet girl. Everyone loves her. Yes, you get that right. We are very proud of her. Do we overpay for her drawing? Not all, at least not to her father, No Worry.
