【Would You Run with Me?】
By Tian Chao Yu
The white swan in golden sunlight
Meditates her morning prayers
A young deer feasts on
The last autumn leaves
Staring curiously as we run by
Miles after miles, happy moments
Beats by beats, racing hearts
Little by little, tender glances
People come and go on the trail
Running back to their old routine
Safe but comfortably numb
Years later, maybe, just maybe
One bright moon night
Memories of what we had
In those swift moments
Flow in softly upon the fragrant meadows
Flooding your heart
What if we run the other way?
Against rules, odds, and wisdoms
Against walls and fortresses
We run where our hearts taking us
To the field of orange red poppies
Where our souls feed each other
On top of lavender covered hills
We run where we play all day
Like deer and swans
Where we cuddle all night
Like birds in snowy days
What if we run the other way?
Would you run with me?
