1.0 out of 5 stars Too one sided to be good history.

I had to put this down after 300 pages because I thought the book was so one sided that I felt that I was getting a distorted picture of the war. I have studied much 20th century history and was looking forward to learning about an area that I have missed, the Korean war. But the book wanders through at least 300 page of set up to the war that was somewhat informative but very biased toward the left. All of the Republican characters are evil and incompetent, and caused all the bad things to happen. All of the Democrat characters are noble statesmen, and whenever they do something stupid or wrong it is because the evil Republicans made them do it. Oh yea, and the China missionaries (the evil China Lobby) were running the country, much like the Jewish lobby runs it today.
Of course, history is never like that. No one side of the philosophical spectrum is always bad and the other always good. So if you like history rewritten to meet your left wing political viewpoint (something like "Fiasco") then you will like it. Sort of pulp history. But if your looking for real history with some sort of balance, then I'd look for something else.
