0 Yimusandendi二译
Having so much feeling but look as if always no feeling
Facing the wine cups I only sense I can't be smiling.
Even candle has a heart to be grief at our parting,
For others shedding tears all night til day-breaking.
1. Farewell 2/2
(Yimusandendi
So passionate in heart but appear always unconcerned at departures,
In front of the wine cups I feel only no pleasures.
Candles have hearts yet are sad as we part,
And shed tears all night til daybreak, substituting others.
2. On Partings, Two Poems (2nd)
Tenderness invariably turns out looking heartless;
Only during toasting was I aware I couldn’t smile.
Even candles showed more heart at the parting,
And shed proxy tears all the way till daybreak.
3. On Parting (Two Poems) (2)
I love you so much, too much to know how to show you my love;
I just feel I can’t smile before my glass and little dove.
With wick like heart, the candle, too, regrets to see us part;
It overflows in “tears” for us till dawn when I depart.
4 “A Sad Farewell"
(John Turner譯)
Who loves too much, they think
No love to know.
Still, as farewell I drink,
No smile I show.
The candle, as in pity of
This sad leave-taking,
Sheds its proxy tears of love
Until day's breaking.
Though deep in love, we seem not in love in the least,
Only feeling we cannot smile at farewell feast.
The candle has a wick just as we have a heart,
All night long it sheds tears for us before we part.
6 At Parting (II)
Deep, deep our love, too deep to show;
Deep, deep we drink, silent we grow.
The candle grieves to see us part,
It melts in tears with burnt-out hea
Deeply in love but
our passion appears to have gone;
Before the wine, no smile we don.
The candle has a heart—
it grieves to see us part,
And sheds tears for us till dawn.
8 Translated
(by Mark Alexander)
Much feeling- but it's just as if there's none,
I think behind my cup, but cannot smile.
The candle has a heart- it too hates parting,
In our place, it sheds a tear at dawn.
