Harambe the Gorilla (original poem)

忆不休,念不休,爱到痴时无所求。此情如水柔。

People said they love me,

So they put me in a zoo.

When a kid fell into my cage

They were panic and me too.

On me they had no trust,

For them I am not worth the dust.

They fired a bullet and I died.

For their irresponsibility, I paid my life.

Justice for all but not for a gorilla.

Then leave my species in the wild.

We have our world, you have yours.

Notes: On May 28, 2016, a three-year-old boy climbed into a gorilla enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardenand was grabbed and dragged by Harambe, a 17-year-old Western lowland gorilla. Fearing for the boy's life, a zoo worker shot and killed Harambe.
