It took Steven Sashen several years after reading
the 2009 bestseller "Born To Run" to produce the
perfect human footwear. I bought my first pair of
Xero Z-Trek sandals in Mar 2015.
Over the past two years, the Xeroes, or rather the
barefoot lifestyle, have liberated my toes from
the tyrany of the cramping toe box (Yes. The
modern shoe industry has replaced the practice of
Chinese foot-binding, which was for women, with
the profitable modern shoe for everyone.) and
rescued my feet from the corrupting comfort (e.g.,
the so-called "arch support") of the regular shoe.
"为道日减." said LaoZi. I can see that now and have
started from the feet up with the Xeroes.
I walk in them and they grow on me.
They never fail to protect my feet,
from the litter and debris.
I hike the rocky hills in them,
getting free foot massages regularly.
I run in them and they fix my form.
Daily, I relish the freedom they bring.
