Daughter: Mom, I can’t sleep. Will you please tell me a story?

I woke up in the middle of the night, 3 am maybe. The cat jumped on me, I think. He was not happy that I took his usual spot. The room was bathed in moonlight. There was a tree outside the window, I could see the shadow on the blinds. I was wondering if that was the lime tree you showed me in the afternoon. Not that tall, I thought. It was beautiful. You stirred a little and moved your head towards my chest. I touched you hair. It was silky and soft.
Daughter: I look at that tree all the time. It is very beautiful and peaceful.
Mother: Then I heard the cat attacking the cardboard box in the living room.
Daughter: Boy cat!
Mother: I couldn’t go back to sleep so I started planning in my head what to cook for you the next day, and what to buy when I go shopping at Costco.
It was really sweet that you wanted to stay near me while I cooked the next day It felt like the time when you were little and you had that little red table in the kitchen corner when I cooked.
Daughter: But the table was yellow and blue, not red!.
Mother: You are right, The chairs were red. Halfzeimers, Haha. That is a real word, you know.
Daughter: Together we made the whole picture.
Mother: Yes,
Daughter: I want to do that one day, cook in my sunny kitchen with my little kid coloring at a little table.
