Quite obvious that you are not familiar with economics or how public policy works. Let me explain it to you: Canada needs people working and paying taxes. But, Canada's population is aging and is not growing.
That's why there needs to be more immigrants coming in to Canada. Immigrants work, and they pay taxes. They bring more youths and growth to Canada.
Do you think immigrants just come to Canada, sit at home, do nothing, and collect welfare checks?
Sorry, but that's just not the reality. You are an immigrant. You should know.
5 million Canadians are set to retire by 2035. There will be fewer people working to support the economy by then.
Canada is aging and getting older and older. The population will not grow, but for immigrants coming in.
Of course, Canada should introduce immigrants to boost its population. 1 million over 3 years is on track to offset the aging Canadian population. The immigrants actually work harder -- I am sure you know and would agree.
Anyone with a brain should know and understand that this is what Canada needs.
