Chinese in US usually has no experience in the real US society. They are in contact with Chinese mostly or school colleagues or office colleagues. None of this experience reflects the real US society.
I do believe those numbers are real. That Nanjing massacre comparison is ridiculous. Lifetime vs. A few days and the numbers you posted are your own guess.
