How to know you think in English?

宁静纯我心 感得事物人 写朴实清新. 闲书闲话养闲心,闲笔闲写记闲人;人生无虞懂珍惜,以沫相濡字字真。

How do you know you think in English?

One test was to see if you can laugh at their laughs,

in real-time standing comedian talk shows. like this:

Her ability to interact with the crowd spontaneously...

it's a rare talent. :-) if you're the one in that crowd and

got picked-up to speak out ! "Every show is different

and she never misses a beat. "

"Starting at 35:50 is a prime example of why audience

members should never challenge what a comedian says

and just play along. Paula takes the time to create an

entire caricature to dismantle the confused man who

thought her question wasn't good."

Paula Poundstone - Look What The Cat Dragged In

2006 standup

Laurie Bolles

Paula shows up on Wait Wait Don't Tell Me wearing a
Pilgram's outfit. When asked why she was wearing it
she replied 'I read this article or book on how to declutter
your life and it said 'if you haven't worn a piece of clothing
for over a year, throw it out.' Take from there. Her logic is
impeccable and how she winds it into her comedy is true
artistry.

Reminds me of watching her special on Comedy Central
back in the day
wherein she told a story about spraying her cats with
water for climbing the
curtains and they ran to her for protection, which
made her feel like "SUCH
an asshole". Still makes me laugh all these years later.

I admire Paula's ability to find a motif (Jon's random
music) and work it
through the segment.
