MP Loop Run

Run w/ L on MP today going up the Ohlone side and coming
down Horse Heaven Trail.

I ran 8.2 miles yesterday and didn't have a great sleep and
thought I would do poorly. But I did great overall. My
glutes were strong and going up felt effortless. Once at the
foot of the summit, I went straight to the pole. I was
surprised by my own energy but did steer clear of the cattle
to be safe. Up there, I did some stretching and one rep of
Surya Namaskar and felt good. The only stretch where my feet
felt tired was the mile after the muddy downhill leg. Horse
Heaven was human hell. But before that, we were passed by
another runner. That was impressive.

I rinsed my feet at the Stanford Ave trailhead and we ran at
a very leisurely pace back to our cars at Pine St. along Mission
Blvd. L had to change into another pair of shoes to go for a
second loop. My Xeros paid.

So it took us in total about 9miles in 2hrs. I think for my
training, I will do the loop twice for 18 miles. But first,
I can try on my usual route for about 15 miles. I don't even
need to go to the summit on my second ascent. I'll just go
as far as my feet don't hurt.

Thank you for a safe and joyful run.

回复 'GraceX' 的评论 : Indeed, it was beautiful. Some trails are less muddy than others. Even today, we ran into mud at some part of the Horse Heaven Trail. But the Ohlone side has been good over the past weeks.

回复 '暖冬cool夏' 的评论 : Thanks for reading and commenting. I feel very lucky to be able to experiment with my body and run those miles :-) I'll sleep tight.

Wow, 8.2 mile and 9 miles in a row. Hope you will sleep well tonight, and drink water. It is warm and dry here these days.
