I saw a clip a few weeks ago where an Asian(John) was pummelled by a black
guy(Tyrone) on a New York subway train. Tyrone was fit and about 3 inches taller
and John was no match. As John gave up fighting and turned away, protecting his
head with his hands, Tyrone threw his right arm around John's neck and put him
to sleep with a rear naked choke. Tyrone might know some Jiu-Jitsu, it occrred to
me at the time.
John could not turn to face Tyrone to break the choke because the latter's chest
was on his back and his own shoulder was in the way.
Today, I learnt (actually re-learnt) the defense where John could just raise and
swing his _right_ arm downward between their bodies and use the momentum to turn
in Tyrone's hold. The arm-swing would grease the right shoulder and John could
end up in a very good position for a hip throw.
