     小城華僑的故事，最有代表性的就是石碼臨郊一公里的「華僑新村」，那裡有十幾棟南洋風格的別墅，有的外形是圓拱設計，既富有歷史韻味，又蘊含現代優雅；每家都有一個小庭院，院內鳥語花香，各種果樹美不勝收。

    華僑新村周圍是田野和小樹林，環境寧靜溫馨，我每次去華僑新村，就像去了一趟桃花源。上個世紀六○年代初期，在中國很多地方興建華僑新村，是為了讓回國參加建設的海外華僑有自己的家，這個華僑新村就是一個縮影。
