To elfie: Don’t worry about your smell. I have been to all kinds of public gathering places, and smelled garlic, onion or body odor from ladies and gentlemen around me. At least, the garlic won’t cause you stomach aches. Ha Ha.

I quit eating raw garlic long ago. I can't go anywhere with the garlic smell in my mouth. And I don't want to be that one annoying person with the offensive smell, either at work or at leisure. We used to serve the noodles for lunch when I was a teenager. It seemed like Chinese people used to tolerate that smell very well. I don't know if they still do because I have left for 23 years. 23 years could change anything you crave, especially food. I still like making a bowl of noodles in a soup, but without the smashed garlic or green onions. Miso soup with ramen or Udon is fine. But most of the time when I want to indulge something special, I want a hamburger with french fries, followed by huge bites. That quenches the hunger for food. And I go to bed with stomach aches.
