Are you glad that China will be the most powerful superpower in the coming decades? Why or why not?
I am glad. China develops without the slave trade, opium trade, imperialist invasion wars, and colonizing others. In fact, China rises peacefully. China is a developing country. China has a GDP per capita far behind many developing countries. Chinese has the right to pursue happiness. No one has the right to restrain Chinese people from improving their living standards. When the living standard elevates, China becomes a powerful country due to the size of its population. There is nothing wrong with it. The only thing wrong is that the present world order is in favor of strong power. That's why some fear the rising of China. Can we construct a world where every country is respected as equal regardless large or small? That's what China is practicing now. China is asking for a relationship of mutual respect. Those who fear the rising of China are just those who are incapable to respect China as an equal.
That's why I am glad China become powerful. China is promoting a shared future for Mankind. When China becomes a superpower, she will not put her national interest above the interest of Human Beings. She will take more responsibility for the world.
Do we agree with the principle of mutual respect and mutual benefit? If we agree, we should welcome the rising of China. At least, we should respect the right to pursue the happiness of the Chinese people. Being powerful has nothing wrong with China. Being powerful is not their fault. They are developing through their hard work. That's why I am glad China becoming powerful.
