Ladies and Gentlemen,

5 Sep 2024

Thank you for gathering here today to honor the memory of Sherman (1978-2024).

I had the privilege of getting to know Sherman over 12 years ago when I was working at the vendor Hx. Every time when I visited the NPK office, Sherman always made time to meet me in person. If our schedules allowed, we’d have lunch together at a small Chinese restaurant across the street. During these lunches I learned his favorite dish was: Bitter Melon Beef.

This January, I transitioned from Hx to the R team. R team is a small and close-knit group. Every Monday, our group would have lunch together at that same small restaurant, which quickly became our regular spot. Sharing meals, our group grew closer each week, creating memories I would cherish forever.

As time went on,I discovered that Sherman's tastes went beyond Bitter Melon Beef.

One time, I ordered a Curry Laksa Soup.

When it was brought to the table, Sherman mentioned how much he loved it too. But he said he never ordered it himself.

I am a bit curious,asking him why.

with a smile he explained the curry soup seemed always to stain his shirt. every time when it happened, his wife would give him a very hard time about it.

Later on that day, when I got home and my wife spotted the stain on my white shirt and started yelling, I just realized how right he was! Since then, I?have been seriously considering to avoid Curry Laksa myself.

Sherman was the best manager I have ever had.

He was an exceptional professional, a loving husband, a proud father, and a true friend.?

Above all, he was a truly nice person. In meetings, he always responded with, "You are correct!" no matter what anyone said to him, showing his respect and kindness for everyone.

Sherman had a way of making those around him feel valued and cared for.

His kindness, warmth, laughter and honesty will be deeply missed by all of us.

Let us remember Sherman not just for his professional accomplishments, but for the way he touched our lives in those small, personal ways.

thank you.
