转眼都2025年了

感谢Gigi，到目前为止我的新年resolution还坚持得不错。而且，意外的收获是，每天跟她在wild life reservation trails 走路一小时, 听完了Amy Tan 的The Backyard Bird Chronicles，Colm Toibin 的Brooklyn 和Long Island， 还有 Doug Most 的 The Race Underground. 才知道，波士顿的地铁是美国第一家！也才知道，修建纽约第一条地铁的总工程师，也是修建Cape Cod Canal的总工：

Parsons designed the Cape Cod Canal as Chief Engineer. He was also Chief Engineer of the Board of Rapid Transit Railroad Commissioners and was responsible for the construction of the Interborough Rapid Transit (IRT) subway line （first subway of New York City).

虽然Brooklyn 和Long Island 讲得是爱尔兰移民的故事，但作者的刻画和描述十分细腻真实，把听上去很日常的故事人情讲得引人入胜，不忍掩卷。

这几本书都很有意思，各有特点。虽然这个月天寒地冻，但有好书听，让人开心。
