今天煮鸡蛋时发现同样是large size 红皮鸡蛋，大小还有区别。图里两个大一点的是Trade Joe买的走地鸡蛋（cage free ），四个小一点的是Costco的有机蛋。
几个星期前Costco鸡蛋短缺，有机蛋货架空空如也，白鸡蛋也只有几盒了。买了一盒白鸡蛋发现它既不是走地鸡蛋，数量也从24个减到18个。所以在Trade Joe看到3.49一盒的红色走地鸡蛋也买回来了。两星期前发现Costco的有机蛋又有货了，还是继续吃Costco的有机蛋吧。
我一直以为有机蛋一定也是走地鸡蛋，看看Costco的有机蛋盒Orgánic Egg字样大而醒目，没看到free range/cage free的字样。再仔细寻找，左边的小字里确实有。不禁疑问难道有机鸡蛋都是走地鸡生的吗（走地鸡吃有机饲料）？写不写无所谓？还是Costco的有机走地鸡走的不够多地方不够大？吃的健康活动少能行吗？
三年前在南加州短居时去农庄买过鸡蛋（没说是有机的），比Costco的有机蛋略贵，但是蛋黄颜色深而饱满，显然看上去比Costco的蛋营养充足。有照片为证。
Costco的有机蛋不仅小，蛋黄也小，颜色浅立不起来。以后再从其他地方买有机蛋看看，是不是蛋黄也看上去营养不良。
想想Costco供应量那么大，要保证它的鸡有足够大的地方跑还真不敢想象。那么还有必要买他家的有机鸡鸡肉和有机蛋吗？毋庸置疑Costco 的价格还是优惠的。
最好是自己养鸡吃着放心

回复 'AnnYuan' 的评论 : It is great. Free cage( 走地) is different from Pasture raised.The latter has larger spaces for roaming,etc. the organic pasture raised does not make much difference based on my experiences. The best brand is Vital Farm. The whole food brand costs less, which is also good.
