《变形金刚2》于6月2日在美国宾州正式开机，正式片名为《变形金刚2：东山再起》，将于2009年6月26日上映！。开拍地点在宾夕法尼亚州伯利恒市钢铁厂遗址，全球变迷集体瞩目的《变形金刚2》前期拍摄正式启动，此地就是剧组搭建的虚拟中国城某工厂片场，制片人
LorenzodiBonaventure向媒体证实，此桥段将是《变2》的首戏，第一部里的汽车人4位金刚将在这里集体亮相，揭开第2部的篇章。
《变形金刚》真人版的大获成功，使得《变形金刚2》的到来也变得水到渠成，这就是好莱坞的的商业电影哲学。而这部继续让人期待的电影，到明年才会与我们见面，在这漫长的等待中，其实大家最关心的还是会有什么新机器人的出现。

新的TRANSFORMERS2显然依旧是通用的广告宣传片，不知道它上映后能否把目前生存在水生火热中GM拉上岸。依照惯例，GM的新车又在这部片中亮相了，上图中红色的为雪佛兰TRAX，绿色的为BEAT，相信从目前GM对于国内市场的逐步重视，这2款车极有可能被引进。

另外，值得注意的就是那辆银白色的跑车了，这个是专门为本集设计登场的CORVETTEZ28概念跑车，相当的漂亮。传说将会出现的女机器人，它的名字可能叫ARCEE。
