大火在 Wood St. 和 West Grand Ave
的拐角处的游民聚集地发生。大火临近880高速路，导致高速路出口封闭。

据消防部门称，大火从周一早上10:30开始，到下午1:30 被扑灭，事发地有多辆汽车、房车着火。
火灾等级为2级。70多名消防员参与了救火。

虽然现场无人员伤亡报告，但奥克兰消防局局长雷金纳德弗里曼说：“火灾现场非常危险，加压气瓶发生多起爆炸，随时都可能夺走公众和消防员的生命。”
