JD Vance, Steve Bannon, et al, despotic epitome of Irish convict origin and Appalachian’s hillbilly, brandish a thuggishness that traditional Republicans lack. Their heated and hateful rhetorics reflect a deeply rooted self-loathe manifested as a cruel zeal for retribution. Vance’s queerish eyeliner hints a socially and sexually confused weirdo fantasizing reincarnation of America and himself.
“I go back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical asshole like Nixon who wouldn’t be that bad or that he’s America’s Hitler,” Vance wrote in a message to a friend in 2016. “How’s that for discouraging?”
In 2016 and 2017, Vance said Trump was “cultural heroin” and “just another opioid” for Middle America.

"To understand me, you must understand that I am a Scots-Irish hillbilly at heart," he wrote in Hillbilly Elegy. This Scots-Irish legacy entailed "many good traits ... but also many bad ones. We do not like outsiders or people who are different from us, whether the difference lies in how they look, how they act, or, most importantly, how they talk." -J.D. Vance
