Once an American asked me if Chinese has racial discrimination issue. I said yes, discriminating against own Chinese is a national pasttime. He was dumbfounded.
In every country, there are civilized and uncivilized people, there are low class and upper class. Don't always compare low class Chinese with upper class African or middle class American. Chinese people who spit are low class ones(including few make money but grow up as poor). What is the big deal? I see plenty of low class non Chinese and I ignore them, they are everywhere.
