UN jobs are mostly low paid...for younger people, as a stepping stone for different career, and experience living in New York; for more senior people, to keep their jobs, many of them have to rotate to different countries...often countries in war, like Afghanistan, middle-east... their family are not happy, often choose to stay in the US. I have met quite many grumpy American wives living in New York with their kids, but their husbands are all over the places... HOWEVER, if one wants to have a political career, UN is a great place to work for, just bear in mind, economically, won't be as lucrative as in corporate...I guess this girl might have her political ambition
